Comics & Graphic Novels at The International Festival Of Authors, October 20th-30th

The 31st annual International Festival of Authors (IFOA) will again grace the citizens of Toronto with a fantastic array of readings, interviews, lectures, round table discussions, and book signings this October 20th-30th at Harbourfront Centre. The Beguiling is proud to once again be setting up a sattelite store at the IFOA, a hand-selected mix of great literary and wide-appeal graphic novels representing the best of the medium as well as a great selection of titles by this year's features graphic novelists and cartoonists in attendance... and what a year it is!

This year, The IFOA will feature readings and presentations from Lynda Barry (Marlys, Picture This), Charles Burns (Black Hold, X'ed Out), Dylan Horrocks (Hicksville), and Seth (George Sprott, Palookaville)! It's an amazing array of talented cartoonists and we're happy to be a part of this event.

October 23rd: Round Table: Graphic Detail, Featuring Charles Burns, Dylan Horrocks, and Seth
Since 2005, the IFOA has showcased the work of cartoonists, illustrators and graphic novelists. At this event, artists Charles Burns, Dylan Horrocks, and Seth share their latest works and participate in a round table discussion moderated by the CBC’s Shelagh Rogers.
October 26th: Round Table: Fictional Truths - Ideas on Time, Memory, and Place.
Myla Goldberg, Paul Harding, Dylan Horrocks, and Eshkol Nevo discuss the building blocks of novel writing at this round table discussion moderated by Siri Agrell.

October 29th: Reading: Lynda Barry, Nadine Bismuth, Dany Laferrière, and Yann Martel
Lynda Barry, Nadine Bismuth, Dany Laferrière, and Yann Martel read from their latest works. James Grainger hosts.

October 30th: Reading/Interview: Lynda Barry
Illustrator and bestselling author Lynda Barry reads from her new book, Picture This, and is interviewed by The Beguiling's Peter Birkemoe.
